UTV Care
Giving your side x side utv 4×4 some care may not be like installing 1966 mustang air conditioning, but the importance of giving full attention to it is a great thing to make sure that you continue to have the best UTV that you have.
Make it a practice of giving your UTV a full attention once-over at the start of each season, which are spring, summer, fall and winter. It is definitely a good rule of thumb to make sure that your UTV is prepared to take the changes in climate. The key areas to focus on are the air filter, oil, oil filter, tire pressure and nuts and bolts on major components.
Keep in mind that dusts can certainly mess up your UTV’s air intake system. Cleaning the air filter will be the best thing to do on a regular basis to avoid clogging that can spoil the engine. If you are lucky enough, air filters in some brands are removable without the need of heavy tools for easy replacement.
With regard to the oil and oil filter, like with any other types of car, contaminated oil can cause a UTV engine to feel a bit sluggish. If you are unable to check or change the oil, it can cause major damage to the engine as a result.
Tires are also needed to be paid attention. Make sure that you always have the correct pressure as specified by the makers. Remember, properly inflated tires improve fuel efficiency so be sure that you are able to check the tires regularly. This should be done at least once a month or even more depending on your usage or the temperature in your area.
Lastly, pay high attention to the nuts and bolts of your UTV. You have to make sure that they are all tightly connected. Check the wheels, engine mounts, and suspensions to make sure that you are always safe. Do this at least once a month as well.
